The first time I saw this movie, I thought it was OK. Then it got nominated for BEST PICTURE at the Oscars and I, of course, had to rent it again. That second time I saw it, it turned into my favorite movie. I immediately went out to buy the video, and even thought about getting a DVD player so I could watch the deleted scenes. The soundtrack is amazing as well. I have over 100 CD's, but this one hasn't come out of my stereo since I bought it about a month ago. However, this is no Sound of Music. It's by no means a traditional musical. The soundtrack mostly consists of pop songs constructed so they're almost unrecognizable, and if you can forget that these songs weren't around in 1901, when the film is set, you'll love it. Almost everyone I know has seen this film and most have loved it, so I would recommend it to almost anyone.
