This movie not only stays true to the the real version of the "Little mermaid" but it does it gracefully.
Unlike Disney's the "little mermaid" which totally changed the ending, this version stays true to the tragic ending. Which makes the movie more impacting.
This movie came out in 1975, years before Disney's little mermaid, and is the best of the two in my opinion. It's an anime film and is beautifully done considering it was done in the mid 70's. Anderson Dowa's Ningyo Hime is a great movie, and should be more appreciated. I give it a perfect score of 10 stars. As it deserves.
