This is a story that deals with a beautiful mind trapped in a body that does not allow for expression and freedom. Anyone who has ever felt trapped by life's circumstances will be able to feel identified with this drama. A movie that fills the soul with empathy (more than sympathy) and a sense of "I'm not alone". Beware that this movie is meant for "thinking" adults, in the strictest sense of the word. If you watch it some less than mature and open minded, they might get caught up in moral and religious issues. I am a religious person myself, but believe this movie to transcend the question of the rightness of euthanasia to focus on the freedom of the spirit. It also touches on the fact that people live in cages of their own making and some times don't even realize it. I had not had a favorite movie for over a decade, but this one has earned that prized spot. The deleted scenes add tremendous input to the plot. This movie definitely deserves its numerous awards.
