My Name Is Earl (2005–2009)
The Next Seinfeld? Feh!
14 March 2006
OK, I confess I only saw this show once. It wasn't so bad. It's just not for me. It was kinda funny I guess, but to me this show is a one trick pony, Earl redeeming himself, righting his wrongs...

I don't think there is enough there for it to go on very long. A man I work with loves this show and thinks it's the absolute greatest insisting that the shear popularity and the comparisons with comedy's like Seinfeld should convince me. I'm not convinced. This is not the "next Seinfeld". I'm watching Seinfeld right now. I've seen every episdoe 10 times at least and I still laugh. That's staying power. That's funny. George says "I was raised from a long line of quiters. My father was a quiter. My mother was a quiter. I was raised to give up". Love it! To compare "my name is Earl" to "seinfeld" is an insult!

Maybe I need to watch a few more times, but based on the one episode I saw I say this show may go one more season, two tops.
