See No Evil (2006)
5/10
I thought this was a horror film, not a comedy. ***SPOILERS***

Warning: Spoilers
Reading up on a few reviews before seeing this movie, I was prepared for a storyline that was shallow. I am a horror fan that does not go for a major story, as long as it has me on the edge of my seat. I was sadly mistaken The movie is quite quick to introduce the character and the gore, not a bad start. You quickly realize that the characters are not gonna get any deeper than the fact that they all committed a sin. The story does not get any deeper than that the serial killer (Kane) has had a troubled childhood and is out to kill people.

As the movie goes on and random stuff happens, slight giggles arise from the audience. All the scary scenes seem too shallow; they don't seem to pull anyone in at all. The acting was laughable, the scenes were written poorly and the script.....was short so I cant really comment on that. In one scene, the character Kyra is in a cage crying to be let out when it sounds terribly exaggerated. Her crys sound like she is not even trying.

The scenes tend to remind of Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the way that Kane would just drag the body off in a dramatic and it would never return. Sadly, many of the scenes are terribly repetitive and predictable. All these bad scenes are climaxed by Kane...umm...lets leave it at "touching himself" while watching a girl. If the blood and gore didn't get you sick, this will.

In the end, when the theater lights came back, most left still giggling and smiling (as did I). The only reason I gave it a 5 is because I am a softy for horror films. Kane played the serial killer very nicely. He was the best actor in it (even though he only has one line). I would not recommend this film even for the hardcore horror fans. You will probably see more horror in the Da Vinci Code (as long as you can get past the protesters)
