Joe's Life (1993)

Another chance needed here.
2 October 2006
Another family comedy about husband and wife role reversal.

But for once, the husband/father wasn't made out to be an empty little simp. He was a strong figure and made it clear he wouldn't be anyone's patsy. Most comedies like this are too P.C. to allow that. Maybe that's why it got nixed? Joe had control of his family. No abuse here. It was done positively. And his wife, while secondary, looked like she could handle life well too.

The daughter was a bossy, snotty type. The first son was a little heathen. And the second son was you're typical young trouble prone troublemaker. Cliché's, yes. But OK all the same.

A family comedy without any soft roles. Why did it fail?
