We come upon a man, Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds. An ex- Captain in the military. He has become a trade dealer on a firefly class, space ship. Along with his first mate Zoë Washburne they travel the galaxy getting what they can and finding a decent price for it. Along the way they travel with Hoban "Wash" Washburne their pilot, Jayne Cobb weapons expert, and Kaylee Frye engineer.
The story takes a twist when they take on passengers. A good doctor, a shepherd(missionary/pastor) and a uneasy man.
This series is filmed perfectly by contrasting the old westerns with new age sci-fi space journeys. The tale streams across the galaxies meeting new people, some bizarre, some not so much.
Firefly lasted only a short time, but in that short time it was enticing audiences all over. Sadly it ended all but too soon with the movie serenity which was captivating as the series.
