yes, it references "back to the future" a lot. personally i think its a lot more like the movie explorers or clock-stoppers.
the main 3 crime travellers are OK characters. the main girl is also an OK character as is the kooky girl who always talks about birds and likes the science geek.
i like the plot. because it's a Disney production it's incredibly saccharine, sickly sweet beyond belief at certain times.
even the FBI don't seem overly scary, likewise that fact that a black hole may destroy all life as we know, even that was played down far too much.
the film could have done the the element of excessive sweetness removed and it might have been a half decent movie. it could have done with a proper ending as well.
worth a look if you can put up with the sickly sweetness that Disney imposed upon it.
