The problem with this movie is the shallow script and breakaway from the original. Nowhere in the first movie Rusty Nail is hinted to be a cold blooded killer (remember that in the end no one died, not even the college friend with the BMW); furthermore the first movie is set as a fable and not a bad one either.
Here enter The Sequel: lacking depth , trying to make up for the lousy script through mindless gore, poor acting, lame voice; Rusty Nail is now a killer on the loose which pretty much kills his character, the acting is what you can expect from B rate movies and his voice is... very weak.
In the end, if you liked the original Joy Ride for the psychological side of it you will HATE this movie. However, if you enjoy movies with no plot and lots of blood then you might like it
