It's hard to describe whether this show was good, or bad. it was kind of stupid to say the least. Particularly "The legend of the crystal coconut" which was a VHS that had 4 episodes, in bad chronological order. However, it delivered a donkey Kong feel, and i won't lie, i heavily dislike musicals (unless they have music that was written by either Slayer or Iron Maiden) but some of the songs throughout the shows were catchy, Particularly "Booty Booty" and "Big Bog Monster" and "the mirror never lies" (which reminded me of System of a down. I can't believe i can make that kind of reference.)
Anyways, Donkey Kong is a fun loving ape who seems to screw things up or do something wrong at the beginning of the episode and then has to right his wrongs, with the help of his nephew (or "little buddy" as he constantly calls him) Diddy Kong. Every now and then, his friend Funky Kong, his guardian, Cranky Kong, and his love interest, Candy Kong, make appearances, But they're not much more than just characters.
DK's mistakes usually end him up fighting King. K. Rool, with his bumbling right-hand Krocs, Klump and Krusha. but in some episodes, different enemies have come around, such as Captain Scurvy and his first and second mates.
I remember watching "The legend of the Crystal coconut" how many times when i was 10, and how i remember my dad eyeing the special effects (which were really good) the show had an engaging story for a guy at that age and it was Nintendo's character, so just watching donkey Kong for an hour and a few minutes was entertaining.
Nowadays, i'd recommend this to someone between the age of 7 to 10 who's really into Nintendo, because that's all it will appeal to. anyone younger won't really get it, and anyone older will be laughing at how stupid some of it is.
