Dedictvi of which I don't really care about.

Warning: Spoilers
I beg to disagree with my fellow countrymen. The language of the movies is universal. There are bad movies, good movies and something in between in any language.

Chytilova is decades away from her experimental beginnings and it shows. Unless we count this flick as her first experiment in free Czechoslovakia. Her first post communism movie is a mess that should have never been made into a big production.

The whole plot revolves around a simpleton that inherits property and real estate and becomes a rich simpleton with an attitude. Dedictvi aneb Kurvahosigutentag is a number of one man show sequences that are put together in a hasty and sloppy way. Polivka as a natural born clown is proving his ability to amuse with silly one liners. We watch as his fellow actors (term actors used loosely) wait for his lines because without him the scenes are empty and non existent (come to think of it, there no scenes without Polivka). The supporting role belongs to the camera because it is there to record the action, everybody else is a prop put there to set up a silly joke that sometimes takes up several minutes to play out.

From the beginning the movie is painful to watch. Just to mention one scene and it will pretty much describe all of them. The celebration in a fancy restaurant. Bohous and others go to celebrate his inheritance in style. Between bad jokes and cliché dialog the scene culminates with a verbal insult and it ends equally painfully as the ensuing fight brakes out. This approach is applied to the rest of the movie. All the characters appear to be drunk or hang over throughout and they don't learn anything and nothing is solved.

As this movie is truly terrible there is no point to go over a plot or anything else for that matter.

Here is some personal favorites:

Lowest common denominator (in no particular order):

1. "Here is some bacon" as Bohous is trying to make love to Vlasta.

2. "They must work hard in Prague because they are black" as Bohous jokes about two African guys.

3. "Do you believe in God…" scene as Bohous talks to Dr. Ulrychova. Later he makes a joke about her vagina. It clearly makes no sense and doesn't belong in the story and it is used for no apparent reason what so ever.

"What the heck?" moments (in no particular order):

1. We know that the pool is filled with animal waste but later on they all jump in and nobody says anything about it, on contrary, they all enjoy it.

2.During the opening sequence we see ants attacking a butterfly, there is no explanation or an arch.

3. Polivka is over the top in a scene where his goat dies.

4. Even in Czechoslovakia kids don't walk to kindergarten that far. Bohous sees a class of small kids in the middle of nowhere.

"Most interesting sequence/image/scene/moment":

Early in the movie we see Germans on the horses as Czech main characters are hard working or hardly working, greeting them in German language : "Gutten Tag". Later on as Bohous becomes rich he is on the horse acting like an aristocrat and demands greeting in German language saying: "Kurva Hosi Gutten Tag" (loosely translated as: C'mon guys say: Gutten Tag)

Best actor/actress: none

Worst actor/actress: All but Ivana Chylkova stands out.
