This was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid. I always liked this series of Sonic the Hedgehog better than another that ran around the same time, which had a drill robot and a chicken robot as the main baddies. This one was more about trying to defeat Robotnik (or Eggman) for good and restoring peace to their world. Along the way they restore the "humanity" to Sonic's uncle who was completely roboticized, and discover that Sally's father was not dead like she long thought. It ended far too soon, and it's sad that the newer incarnations of Sonic don't appear to have picked up the story line, nor do they have the same level of quality to them.
