U Me Aur Hum (2008)
4/10
Could be much better but kudos to Devgan

Ajay Devgan post ZAKHM esp is known as a great actor he has directed portions of flop MAJOR SAAB when Tinnu Anand was sick those days so that gave him kinda experience

In this film he tries an emotional subject and handles it quite well but there are problems as well He copies the style of narrative from THE NOTEBOOK and brings across a nice emotional film

But??????

The first half is damn boring especially the characters of his friends and also the romance is not too catchy barring here and there The drunken scenes are damn stupid

Ajay revealing the truth is well handled and then we move on The interval point brings a twist and we are hooked But looks like Ajay hasn't done full research or ignored the real problems faced by the person having the sickness

There are forced songs in second half like the Saiyan song and also the entire climax looks too sudden and sort of unbelievable But the emotional breakdown drunken act is brilliantly directed and acted by Ajay even the scene in the hospital

Direction by Ajay Devgan is good in parts and bad in some Music is okay, the title song stands out and also JEE LE Camera-work is bad, especially in scenes on the ship where Ajay- Kajol are given damn too funny close ups Editing too is jerky, whatz with the small guy making faces?

Ajay Devgan starts off looking too skinny, amateurish in the comic act which gets boring and then he gets better and handles the emotional part very well thankfully he is in form because post Omkara he pulled down his histrionics and did crap films and acts Kajol excels especially in the scenes showing her sickness though she shreiks badly at times Amongst rest Sachin khedekar is okay Divya Dutta shouts too much, the rest are bad especially Isha and that cousin of Akshaye
