Disappointing
1 September 2010
I bought the DVD of this in London shortly after its cinema release in the city and I was very excited having heard a great deal about it. The subject of the disappearance of the honey bee is very important and needs to be brought into the public domain as often as possible but the handling of the material here is, in my opinion, very muddled. This documentary film is too long or seems to be) and it is not a technically skilled work. It lacks fine film imagery and a good editor with a sharp, innovative eye. Consequently, this film finally fails to hit home its vital message. However, I do not doubt that the filmmaker's heart is in the right place, but there are several other films on this subject that are better made and I would recommend them above this title.
