This a good war time drama set in Holland at wars' end in 1945. It's about a family in a small Dutch village. The antagonisms between the son, father, mother and sister are authentic and well done. The real problem develops when an Allied pilot parachutes from his crashing plane and lands near their village.
This films well documents the fine line in an occupied country between collaboration and resistance. You can only go so far in either direction without putting yourself and/or your morality in high jeopardy. Unfortunately the ending is a bit of a stretch and takes away from the tension that had been developing through-out.
