Review of Peopletoys

Peopletoys (1974)
Unfolds with no surprises
25 November 2011
For some reason, the folks at Code Red DVD thought this was deserving of a release on DVD not once, but twice. Maybe they thought that there were still a lot of fans of teen idol Leif Garrett out there, or thought that the seldom-used plot of kids being psychotic killers would attract some interest. As you can probably tell from what I just wrote, I wasn't impressed by this movie, even though I enjoy watching independent exploitation movies. What annoyed me the most were that the adult characters are incredibly stupid, and it takes them forever after a sizable body count to figure out what's going on. The kids themselves are almost as annoying as the adult characters. But what really sinks the movie is that not only does it unfold with no surprises, but takes so long to do so.
