Review of Kuzey Güney

Kuzey Güney (2011–2013)
9/10
bar raised one level up!
5 December 2011
In recent years, Turkish TV series have gained quality and there were great productions like Ezel, Ask-I-Mennu, Walley of Volwes or Binbir Gece (1001 Nights), but the level is now even higher with this one.

Overall good story, great directing, great cast and great role playing for each and every actor and actress from Kivanc Tatlitug to everybody else... Even from the first episode, the series starts with a very good way of story telling.. sometimes extremely heavy drama deep into family relations, angers, feelings in a realistic way..

Initially I am impressed how Kivanc improved his acting skills, best up to date. he plays a young man with a good heart but with lots of drawbacks and in a way weird personal attitudes... All family members are giving top performances in my opinion, especially the father.. Also I am impressed how the past is successful shot. The past is shot much better than with other series, you almost think that Kivanc is really a teenager when they were shot. The relation between the brothers, and with other family members are extremely well analysed and played.

Yes, there are things to criticize as well.. after the 5th or 6th episode you start to loose the main purpose of the story. What would Kuzey (Kivanc) want to achieve? What is his goal? Where is the TV series going to in general? I ask these questions because this story could end easily if the main character Kuzey knew what he really wanted.. However, I won't go into more detail not give away any spoilers for readers..

Anyway, I watched episode 9 until now and I am still watching with great pleasure...

Final words: I strongly recommend...!!!! :))
