Just from watching the trailer, there are too many similarities that can be drawn back to The Blair Witch Project. The only difference this time is why the characters are there and who is supposedly out there.
The characters feel lackluster and not engaging, the plot is very predictable and the overall quality is at an average standard. Another reappearance of Scoot McNairy after the last film the team worked on, Monsters (2010), which seems to be the only connection to this movie despite the poster and trailer stating that the movie was made by the same people despite no information on who exactly these people are.
Overall, not a film that would be a must-see in theaters but probably just a cheap thrill rental.
