Great movie about struggles of teenagers and parents
3 October 2012
Oh how I wish this was available on DVD. It is a great movie that shows a teenager getting past the egotistical veneer she acquired in the city, and learning to be real with other people. It also shows the values of small towns where they shine- knowing each other and not getting lost in red tape. Typical of a Robert Logan movie, it looks positively on the strengths of the native American cultures. The life lessons here are priceless. It does not contain computer graphics. It also has no gory violence. This sort of fare is great stuff to show to kids who are growing up and trying to figure out what to make of how life works. We talk a lot about values but don't seem to choose them. This movie is great at communicating good solid values.
