I've been researching 19th Century Dorset for many years, so I was really excited about an intelligent drama set during this period.
However, this isn't it. To those who think it might be, I should point out that a Northern Accent is neither necessary nor sufficient to make you a struggling worker.
It is my humble opinion that most Dorset Farm-workers of the 19thC would have spoken with a Dorset accent. They might even have used Dorset dialect, who knows? But Manchester and Yorkshire accents would, I suspect, have been as conspicuously absent from Tolpuddle then as, indeed, they are now.
