Zombies on a road trip
10 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The intro makes it seem promising with the grindhouse vibe going for it sorta but it turned out pretty good. This isn't a amazing zombie movie but it's watchable. It's basically about a guy waking up to find out he is a zombie but unlike other zombies he is intelligent and has human conscience and is basically a good zombie cause he doesn't kill people. And randomly meets another zombie that has the mind of a human as well. And it turns out as a zombies on the road trip movie with two unexpected friends Mike and Brent on a journey to find a girl that one of them is head over heels for. Because out of 6 billion people he thinks she is his only soul-mate. And has a old guy and a zombie with zombie mentality and has attributes of the Frankenstein monster following them around. So they are the good guys...Well sorta and the humans that are trying to hunt them are the bad guys...Sorta. So it's a interesting take on this genre and you can tell they put quite a effort into this straight to DVD zombie flick. Even if it does have some plot holes and doesn't make much sense sometimes. For instance the zombie Frankenstein that is tagging along doesn't even try to eat the old guy. They are zombies and yet they smoke pot. You can see them breathing although they are zombies. One of the zombie guy that has the human mind wears glasses without any lenses although he isn't a hipster. And at the end the protagonist who has a zombie body lets his girlfriend kiss him although he can contaminate her and turn her into a zombie. Just to name a few things that doesn't make sense about this movie. The acting in this movie isn't awful but it's far from good, but I guess that somewhat makes this flick humorous a bit. The dialogue isn't well written and can be pretty darn cheesy and childish. If they used the two zombies that still has the intellect of humans and incorporate it into the movie in a clever and creative way it would have really upgraded this movie. But they are on the run from humans that are trying to hunt them and that is basically the only thing the play the fact that the two main characters are zombies upon. Because there is certainly plenty of ways they could have incorporated them being zombies and all and use it to accomplish certain tasks and stuff. If this had a bit of a higher budget and used it for better cinematography and added more cool stuff going on. Incorporated the two zombie buddies with the intellect of humans and used it in a clever and witty manner and did a better job with the dialogue. It could have made it into the theater. Overall it's a alright movie but wanted a bit more humor. It's nowhere near as good as "Shaun of the Dead" but it's a watchable flick.
