Spaghetti Exorcism!
27 May 2013
I got this film in a collection with 50 other films under the title "The Eerie Midnight Horror Show". I watched this one, because I was expecting a horror film that revolved around a radio or television program. I was not expecting an Italian Exorcist film. This one is most certainly that, and not what I was expecting. I am not really into possession movies, so if I knew it was going to be a remake I would not have watched it. The film did not really start out like an exorcism film, as it had this art student helping a man pick up some sculpture in a church. There was even a scene as the girl worked on a painting that seemed like it might have a radio show or something involved as the sculpture seemed to mess with the radio the female was listening to, but no...turned into the Exorcist. Granted a more sex filled Exorcist, but The Exorcist nonetheless.

The story has a young woman helping someone pick up a strange sculpture of a man on a cross. She begins to have visions of a sexual nature and soon she is diagnosed possessed. A priest tells her parents that she needs a priest that deals with exorcisms, but they are virtually nonexistent, however there is one right down the road. Add a pointless plot point involving the mother, most likely to pad the film and a lot of other padding. Then we have a very weak and non memorable showdown!

The film had some good scenes to it, though it probably would have made a better adult film as at times at the beginning it had an adult film feel to it. The title of the film, I watched it under did not fit at all, but its main one here does. I think they should have just called it the Spaghetti Exorcism and had Clint Eastwood as the priest at the end. Now that would have been epic! Of course, he most likely would have grabbed the chain and taken it, wrapped it around the girl and thrown her into the well before lighting up a cigar and then the camera freezes credits roll. If it did that, I would have given the film a 10!
