I cannot believe that I am writing a user review since I have never written one in my life and it included taking the time to register as a user. The episode on Sunday, October 20, 2013 of "Betrayal" is what has prompted me to write a review. I am a "Baby Boomer" who grew up watching the original "Dallas", "Knots Landing", and "Dynasty". I love to watch the night soaps and even look forward to them.
However, the last episode has left a lasting impression in my mind that troubles me. It came from the scene where one of the main characters nailed someone's hands to the ground as part of the mob plot. I found that scene to be both violent and disgusting. I realize that there is a disclaimer about adult content before each episode, but ABC is showing this series in prime time. If someone enjoys this kind of violence they need to see a movie that is rated as such or watch a television program on cable. This kind of series should not be included in the regular networks in prime time. What if a child just happened to see this episode or if his parents don't care what he watches. With episodes like the one on October 20, it is no surprise that more Americans have dulled their consciences to acts of violence.
