Warning: Spoilers
I watched this film with my mother over the period of 2 days. We had to stop a couple times to make it through the slog.

The film is part of a "Great Classics" DVD featuring a variety of both entertaining and drab movies. The film was viewed with an open mind.

I was only tangentially familiar with the Dicken's novel of David Copperfield. David grows up and Uriah Heep is a bad man as a clerk and some rock band took his name. That really was all I knew.

Mom kept asking me what was going on and in every film I can always tell her what is going on except this one had me absolutely perplexed. This movie was so awfully disjointed that I had to call up the Wikipedia site summary of the novel to figure out just what the heck was going on!

A mopey David Copperfield goes through time shift vignettes reliving the misery that was his life. But...because everything is so choppy and never really developed it is nearly impossible to tell what actually is going on unless you have a Cliff Notes version to guide you through what is supposedly being represented. If that doesn't describe awful to you then I don't know what does.

I actually started to become like the Al Bundy quote from the episode Movie Night of Married With Children: "How long is this thing? She start dismembering everyone."loves him, he loves her... I can't take it. I'm gonna run amok and

After watching this awful presentation I was ready to go around dismembering people just like Al Bundy!
