I really liked it-I didn't love it

Warning: Spoilers
I loved Steve Van Zandt in the Sopranos and I knew this wouldn't be as good (how could it be), but I was hoping it would have been a bit better. I like it's quirkiness due in most part to its Norwegian influences, but it just doesn't mix with the implausibility of the main character.

Stevie I love you, but your tough guy NY (hey yous guys!) image is a little forced here. This is not the Sopranos and I don't know why everyone on this board is saying it is. One watered down character from the Sopranos does not a Sopranos show make! Plus, I hate to say it, but I can't help thinking there's no way in hell a man of your age and stature could beat up any of the people you managed to slay in this show. Every time it happens I can't fully enjoy it, because it just makes me wince. The hair, (that dark black THING on your head has got to go) and the young girlfriend gotten so quickly are unreal to me.

The things I did like about the show are its humor and SOME of his NY bravado. I'm a native New Yorker after all and I love us guys---YO! But it does make me laugh that a lot of foreigners actually think we all act and talk like that. Let me tell you for real-we don't.

What I wish is that Stevie's character would start using much more of his NY smarts to handle situations, keep the swagger and stop with the rough stuff. He's the boss. Let the underlings handle the muscle and the show will become much more believable to me.

The Norwegian actors are wonderful and even after my critique, so is Van Zandt and I like the fact the violence and sex are a bit toned down in comparison to most off network shows. Yes people, I think they're toned down. Some nudies and a little blood is toned down!

Just my opinion.
