ALTHOUGH Being A Decent Movie Its Not MOHIT SURI'S Best

Warning: Spoilers
EK VILLAIN - So after creating so much hype and curiosity this Friday we witnessed Ek villain .. Directed by non other then The Aashique 2 fame Mohit Suri.....He has become a well know director and everybody recognize him after the blockbuster Aashique 2 .. But i have been his fan since his first movie i.e. , ZEHER ,, and then he has give many good films like Kalyug , Murder 2 and Aashique 2,,,,....When he made Awarapan i was mesmerized by that movie and till date as per me Awarapan has been the best movie made by Mohit , then comes Ashique 2 and then Ek villain.... Mohit Suri hasn't been known for great stories rather he is known for the great moment which he creates in average stories which can be felt by audience,,,,which can be taken home by audience after the movie finished....That x factor was missing in Ek Villain,,,,the movie doesn't have the soul......

There has been rumor that Ek villain is highly inspired from the Korean film 'I Saw The Devil' ,,,, that's actually true,,,,i haven't seen that film,,,,but i have read its story,,,,Mohit has given a Bollywood touch to the Korean story by injecting the romantic angle in it......

Having said that i would like to say that the characters in the movie are highly inspired by Mohit's own movies....Shidhart Malhotra is almost same as Emraan Hasmi of Awarapan , same goes for Shradha who is like Shreya Saran of Awarapan ,, and Ritesh's villainous character is too close to Prashant Narayan who played the villain in Murder....infect the Zaroorat song looks same like Tera Mera Rista from Awarapan..... So Mohit is not just inspired from a single movie rather have mixed up a lot of movies....

There is one scene where Shidhart was killing a person and say him to pray to God so that God could save him,,,,,that scene has been taken from 'The Iceman' in which Michal Shanon was killing James Franco........

I have to tell to a small spoiler which is not actually a spoiler as revealed at very first moment of the film,,,, Shradha has been killed within the very first 10 min of the movie,,,,which was before watching the movie i thought would be the biggest suspense,,,,so whats left for Mohit to show,,,,now the movie goes simultaneously with past which shows how Guru met Aisha and become a lover boy from a gangster(as Emraan Hasmi of Awarapan),,,,and present where Shidhart was chasing Ritesh for revenge....So after first 10 min the story is all predictable,,,,,and in a thriller where i was expecting some big twist ,, i got nothing,,,,i have almost predicted the whole story from the song videos and full length trailer...... This movie shows that how much a good story is required for a movie,,,,because all other departments have done a great job,,from direction , to music , to acting , to editing,,,,,but the Writer is the real villain in this movie......

So about the good things,,,Mohit Suri's direction was top notch,,,,although he can't dig out much emotional moments like what he had done in Awarapan and Ashique 2 there are still some moments to remember from the movie..... As per acting is concerned Shidhart is really selecting interesting characters for himself as compared to his other competitors like Varun Dhawan or Arjun Kapoor...His devilish look has done its job,,,,and he has done more then decent job as the angry young man but he lacks experience in action sequence,,,,for that i would not blame him as its just his third movie and also his first with action sequence....Watch out for the 'One Shot' action sequence on the boat just after the Zaroorat song.....And also for the Shahansah act,,,,it was one of the lightest moment of the movie....

Shradha does his bubbly girl act decently,,,,and she looks real pretty,,,,but she haven't done anything ground breaking,,,neither her character allows her for more,,,,

But its Ritesh who stills the show in his villainous act,,,,as per me Ritesh should leave doing comedy movies and concentrate on other products.....

Amna as Ritesh's wife have done a character who is believable,,,,u could connect to her which is being the real reason of Ritesh's anger.... But the supporting cast has being badly selected,,,,Remo Fernandis as don is bad,,,,he is a great musician and should not try his acting skill,,,,on the other hand Shaad as police officer is below average and was not important for the movie,,,,and yes lastly our Bhojpuri hero Kamal R Khan,,,,i don't know how could Mohit has selected him,,,he is such a bad actor,,,,his character could have been totally deleted from the movie.... For songs,,,,they comes in regular interval and doesn't interrupt much.....Galiyan , Banjare and Zaroorat are really good....I don't like Hamdard much but in the movie it fits good....Awari is one of my most favorite song from the movie but has nothing to do with the situation where its has been injected...... Editing was very tight and the movie is just 2hr and 7 min,,,,. M going for 7.3 out of 10 ,,, really wanted to give more,,,but cant....hope next time Mohit will do better....- By ANuP APu KuMaR.....
