(alternate title: MRS. G. GOES TO COLLEGE)

WE DO RECALL that this series played on CBS television for a short run; being only one season. It was a sort of Sitcom; but we cannot recall its having a "technically augmented" laugh track. This would, in and of itself, qualify it for a special place in Broadcast History.

THE PREMISE WAS simple and much repeated. Mrs, Green (Gertrude Berg), a Jewish & middle aged housewife, has decided to continue her education after many a year's hiatus. The Brooklyn born lady encounters many difficulties and finds herself receiving advice from Professor Crayton (Sir Cedric Hardwicke).

IN ADDITION TO the sort of situations that were caused by the difference of age, ethnic humour was a staple; with Gertrude Berg's background as Molly on the Radio Show, THE GOLDBERGS.

THE PAIRING OF Miss Berg & Sir Cedric was a spin off from their teaming on Broadway in A MAJORITY OF ONE. (This was also done as a movie in 1961; but had Alec Guiness and Rosiland Russell in the roles.)

THE BASIC PREMISE of the show was about the same as the Rodney Dangerfield starring vehicle, BACK TO SCHOOL; albeit in a far different mode.
