The Moromete's Family is perhaps one of the best movies made in Romania. With a stunning acting from Victor Rebengiuc (Ilie Moromete), the main character of this movie. The script follows the homonym novel and manage to transpose a inter war reality from Romanian countryside. Moromete wasn't just a poor peasant who had been trying to survive in that period among with his family. He had a developed way of thinking unlike his villagers, he used to smoke his cigarette, and to speak with his two friends: Dumitru and Cocosila, about polictics, economy and social life. One of his memorable reply is " I don't have", it's talking about his financial resources because he never had enough to pay his taxes. Even so his courtyard was his theater scene, he used to act like an actor on the stage for the other ones amazement. Sometimes Moromete became angry and was beating his 2 older sons from his first marriage, because they were lazy and greedy. In the first part of the movie (novel), " the time had everlasting patience with people" in the end, the time hadn't had this tolerance with them at all. A classic movie, must be seen by everyone who want to understand his roots.
