Damaged reputation
16 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Henry Simmons who used to be an NYPD detective on NYPD Blue is on the other side of the criminal justice system in this SVU story. Simmons plays a retired basketball player, a Kobe Bryant clean cut sort who gets himself in a nasty jackpot when a few women come forward with rape charges. As they are of a bit more recent vintage than those which have surfaced against Bill Cosby in real life charges come forth and Raul Esparza has to try a case.

Though he's retired from the game Simmons has a lucrative contract with Stacy Keach and a clothing line he manufactures. Keach exercises the morals clause in his contract and Simmons is out without any prospects of employment in sight with those rape allegations and a trial coming up.

Bill Cosby who is such a beloved figure that one hopes that his story in real life ends the way it does for Simmons. Well not quite, because Simmons still has a damaged reputation no matter how the court case might go.

See how it goes.
