DEADHEADS is, I guess, trying to be a US spin on SHAUN OF THE DEAD, a well-remember British zombie comedy. The twist in this film is that the protagonists themselves are zombies, gradually rotting away as they travel the USA in search of a lost love.
I don't really see much potential in that premise and unsurprisingly this turns out to be complete garbage thanks to the script. It's trying to be one of those stoner comedies, full of self-referencing and dumb humour. The dialogue is littered with swearing throughout but the writers/directors are no Tarantino - every line sounds hollow and badly written. Even worse, none of it is funny, none of it even raised a slight chuckle.
Sure, there are gore effects galore here - played for laughs, of course - and lots of zombie-shooting incident, but it's all familiar and, dare I say it, predictable. For me, there's nothing worse than an unfunny comedy, which is why I give this two thumbs down.
