Simply tedious
5 October 2015
I consider myself to be a well educated man. I consider myself to be somewhat of a movie connoisseur (mind you; somewhat only). The latter less then the first, but still I do often like (low budget) movies where imagery plays an imported part and the story is a little less obvious then your standard marvel movie.

This movie shows some amazing imagery, but that is about it.

I had no clue, no clue at all, on what this movie was all about. I cannot imagine people could have any concept on the story without first reading up on its content online.

It starts somewhat promising, but that is very short lived. After about ten minutes in, you will lose any idea of what the story is trying to portrait and it will not (at) all fall together at the end. Actually the end was very disillusioning to me since I kept hoping on some form of explanation.

I honestly don't say this very often but: don't waste your time. You will regret spending it on this piece. To illustrate, there are hardly any conversations in it. There is no story, only imagery.

I tried to get some sense out of it, after watching it. Googling and reading up on its supposed meaning. I could place a few things when I really force- ably tried, but most of the comments and supposed meanings where just plucked from the air imho.

So what about the high meta-rating? In some cases I honestly don't like a movie, but I can imagine someone does. In this case... No, just no. This is a prime example of a pretentious rating. Sure the director and writer Carruth knew exactly what he was doing, but I don't believe any of the, so called, (positive) critics knew what this movie was about.

Then again I might be stupid. Don't watch the movie.
