From what I can gather, this episode was supposed to come off as poorly written material, very reminiscent of SCTV's Count Floyd's Scary Stories (or variations thereof). This cable show material was supposed to come off as second rate, just as Joe Flaherty played Count Floyd on SCTV. It's as if the material was ab libbed so poorly to be funny.
Maybe this wasn't apparent to many of the viewers?
The material of the takeoff on "How It's Made" was also a scream! It was very accurate, even if the nomenclature was totally fictional.
Most people on this site are too young to remember SCTV...
YouTube likely has entire shows of SCTV available.
It hasn't been on the air in many years in my area.
