I wish MADtv is still on our screens. When I first watched it, I couldn't stop laughing at many of the sketches. The Rudolph claymation sketch was hilarious big time.
Sure there was satire but I felt the prime purpose of MADtv was to be funny, and it succeeded on many counts. Sure it may not have had the guest stars that SNL attracted, but still, the comedy was really comedy and not hit and miss.
I wish a network can reboot MADtv, as it stands tall in the annals of sketch comedy, and stands shoulder to shoulder with SNL. It's a shame there aren't any books written about MADtv as I would love to learn more about the show, the production, etc.
