This is the first of a series that is quite unforgettable. The sixties was an era of constant change and television began to transition into a true force. While many of the shows were just mindless candy, there was some intelligence being shown. With the contrasting efforts of the Smothers Brothers, full of social commentary, versus Laugh In, hit and miss (mostly miss) packaged to cater to the American's decreasing attention span. Still, there was some experimentation, and, eventually the foundation for the wonderful Saturday night line-up that will probably never be matched. The breakdown of sexual stereotypes, the advent of Norman Lear and a finish to a decade immersed in the pain of war and distrust.
