I have watched "Krøniken" about three or four times now and I'm very impressed with it. In the series' beginning, you meet Ida (Anne Louise Hassing), a young 20 year old Jutland girl. You also meet Erik (Ken Vedsegaard) and his younger sister, Søs (Maibritt Saeerens) and last but not least Palle (Anders W. Bertelsen) The four main characters of the series.

My favorite characters, however, are Eriks parents, Kaj Holger and Karin (Stina Ekblad). Karin seems to be the only one with common sense in the family. She has a recurring role, but delivers her dialogue with such ease that you actually believe this is not just a show.

IMO, It was a very brave move of the writer to put the characters through so much throughout the series. It also paints a very precise image of Denmark through 25 years of history. I cannot express my excitement for this drama enough. I wish they would make a sequel 1972-2016.

DR did a similar drama called "Album" which focused on three different families through the mid 70's - 2000. I'd love to see more of this because I think it's very interesting to see the development of the society in Denmark. Thumbs up from a proud Dane.
