Supergirl: Star-Crossed (2017)
Season 2, Episode 16
1/10
Fun romp of a B plot but as usual Mon El drags the episode down.

Warning: Spoilers
Delightful B plot. While predictable, it was great to see the "superfamily" back in action together in an arc that felt a lot like season 1. It had heart, and humor and doing the Right Thing (tm) to save the day, and help someone who needed it.

Sadly, the same can't be said for the A plot. I don't even know why they call it Supergirl anymore, they might as well just call it the Mon El show. Here's the thing. If you're going to do the whole "rich boy learns a lesson and become good" you need to start earlier. Mon El's "redemption" has dragged on and on and on and he backslides so often I frankly couldn't care less what his motives are anymore (if he even has any besides getting in Kara's pants).

Besides, Arrow has the "rich party boy becomes a hero" market cornered in the Berlanti verse. Do we really have to watch a much weaker Ollie 2.0 take time away from Kara and her family? Oliver *earned* his redemption and quite literally has the scars to prove it. Seriously what has Mon El done, drink club soda? He's boring, and instead of a show about a SUPERHERO struggling with her dual identities, I feel like I'm watching a tween dating show. Enough already. I've never seen a character so obviously created to pander to people who don't know anything about the comics that inspired the show and it's time for him to go.

Give Kara back her show.
