Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes (2006 TV Movie)
5/10
Uneven Script

Warning: Spoilers
Let me get this important bit out of the way first: Lance Henriksen was wasted a talent in this film. His cameos were unnecessary and didn't influence the progression of the movie in one iota. That said, it was nice to see a familiar face.

The rest of the actors? Not so much. They were basically walking- talking clones from Central Casting. I don't blame them, though. If I had to recite some of their contrite lines on camera I'd have to do take after take as the absurdity of the dialog would have me in stitches.

The movie was beautiful to behold, though. Was that a good thing? Yes and no. Horror movies tend to look best when they're gritty, not squeaky clean looking like a sci-fi flick. I was disappointed that, when Pumpkinhead showed up to do his thing, he didn't appear in a fog of smoke and flashing lights ala the first two films. Why they got rid of that for this third installment is beyond me. Partially destroyed the Pumpkinhead mythos if you asked me. At least they seemed to have gotten Haggis right.
