5/10
Cheesy, dated, only good if you like 1990s horror comedies

Warning: Spoilers
BORDELLO OF BLOOD is the second of the TALES FROM THE CRYPT TV series film spin-offs and a sequel to DEMON KNIGHT, which I enjoyed. Sadly, this one is a much inferior vehicle, telling a cliched story via a script full of the lamest and cheesiest one-liners imaginable; it literally sounds as if it took the writers about five seconds to come up with each gag. If you're looking for wit, you'd do well to check elsewhere. The story itself is a dragged-out little enterprise about vampires in a brothel and seems to directly copy FROM DUSK TILL DAWN on more than one occasion. The unknown-to-me Dennis Miller is an unlikeable lead and Angie Everhart is very poor as the chief vampire, but at the same time there are positives here too. There are a ton of references to films and TV shows and some good actors in support: Chris Sarandon as a pastor, Aubrey Morris as the creepy house host, Corey Feldman as a tearaway. The film also features plenty of (decent) rubbery gore effects and some glimpsed early CGI. It's not the worst I've seen, but if you're looking for quality you're better off sticking with DEMON KNIGHT.
