Over the course of the show's lifespan; we've had some big changes made to the status quo. twilight becoming an alicorn, the cutie mark crusaders finally getting their cutie marks, starswirl finally appearing, ETC. all these changes had reasons to happen. however; I really don't see how spike sprouting wings really effected the show. now; it can be argued that all the dragons in the world of my little pony have wings so it seemed only natural that spike would grow wings of his own eventually. however; there have been actual dragons in mythology that do not have wings. also; just because a character growing wings was important and groundbreaking the first time doesn't mean it will be the second time. aside from this pointless change; the episode was alright. the intro was good(though I don't know who peewee is), most of the humor is funny, the final battle with the roc is very good, and I'm glad to finally see zecora in season 8. however; the pointless change is what brings this episode down to a five star rating. I by no means hate this episode but word to the wise; if your writing for a show and you want to change the status quo...actually make sure that the change...well...CHANGES THE SHOW!
