Ghosts of Mississippi review
28 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The movie Ghosts of Mississippi is based of a true story about the Murder of Medgar Evers and how 25 years later, they are trying to do a retrial to bring the person who killed him to justices. Everyone should know the backstory before watching or at least look it up after watching the movie. It will give the viewers of this movie a better understanding of the movie only because this movie is based off a true story. This movie is based off a true story, it feels like it's missing a lot of detail on the court case and what and how they found the evodise. It seem that they rushed the movie they didn't really go into much detail about anything there was some scenes that seem good with info and detail but must of them didn't. There was also some funny scenes like everytime the secretary said something it was always a smartbutt comment which helps the viewer somewhat interested in the film but seriously doubt that happen in real life. Even though this is based on a true story and its an ok movie in my option it gets a 3.5 out of 5 stars. The actors in this movie did a really good job in this movie. The actors they have in this movie are stars as Alec Baldwin, James Wood, and Whoopi Goldberg, and tons of others stars. Alec Baldwin is an amazon actor and he did a outstanding job in this movie, and the desk lady/ securtray which couldn't found out her name but she has very funny scene in the movie that would make anyone laugh. 'The director of this movie is the one and only Rob Reiner and he has made a lot of older movies people love to watch like The American President, and A Few Good Men. Personally this is not Rob's best work but this not his worst movie. The music selecting in the movie was perfect and seem fitting for the scenes, for example when they shot Edger in the driveway the music seem fitting for that scene and there more examples of this in these movie. In the darker scenes they should of made it brighter because it was hard to see the people in the scene don't know if they did that on purpose or what but not a fan of it. They also did a good job on the editing. There editing jobs where not always perfect but not a lot of movies are tough, but they had some good transition from different scene like during the court case like when they were talking to the jury or the judge and then brought in different people to the witness stand was pretty good editing. Like earlier in the review its says that in my personal opinion it's 3.5 out 5. Don't get mad about my opinion. You could and can enjoy this movie, it's not a bad movie to watch, and since its base on a true story you could even show it in histrol classes if they are talking or teaching about it but the movie seems to be missing so detail so it wouldn't be the greatest to watch for history class, recommend teach the students the backstory of the movie before watching it. If they did this it would probably help the students better understand this movie, even you are just watching to watch it, its a very good movie but not so much on the the detail of the history. This my review of the Movie Ghost of Mississippi, highly recommend it if your into movies that have a little history in it and some humor and also suspenseful.
