A movie doesn't have to be a thriller to be able to seduce its audience into sitting down and follow the story till the very end. This movie is one of those kinds.

From the beginning, it already tells you that this is not a typical criminal - thriller film. It is more than that. Dark Figure of Crime depicts a psychological battle between a detective and a prisoner who admitted to have murdered 7 people yet no body was ever found.

The characters are certainly very developed and well portrayed by the excellent actors. A persistent detective, who is determined to find the whereabouts and remains of the victims, against an intelligent, cunning killer who takes advantage of the loopholes in the law system to literally get away with murder and creates the game between the two of them. Moreover, such sophisticated characters are, fortunately, played by two very talented actors to successfully bring to the screen a beloved detective and a psychopathic yet well-mannered killer.

The story is well-developed not just because it is based on real events but also because it is in the hand by a dedicative director. Some shots are certainly beautiful and expensive, especially the last scene where the detective was on his own, continuing to find the bodies of other victims. It really shows how difficult and tiring the job can be, and at the same time, illustrates the fact that he's a loner in the quest of finding the missing
