"Fatal Secrets" (a.k.a., "Restitution Road") is a combination thriller and toxic masculinity-based film.

Three close female friends are all in transition in their lives. Julia has recently divorced and is readjusting life as a single mom. Rebecca is married to an attorney but carrying on an affair with a doctor. And Sharlene is dating and getting serious about marriage. They meet regularly in a book club. The most appropriate reading during the time span of the film is Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment."

Julia meets a man online. They have a good first date, where Scott is quite gentlemanly. But on the second meeting, Scott assaults her in her home. She feels that she does not have enough evidence to go to the police, and the two friends join her in a posse.

The newer title "Restitution Road" more accurately conveys the gist of this film than the pedestrian "Fatal Secrets." The word "restitution" conveys something different than "revenge." It is especially the final fifteen minutes of the film that include both a dynamic plot twist and a more nuanced expression of the nature of restitution. All of the performances were great, the film was well scored, and it included interesting locations and environments. For a made-for-television film, this was an all-around
