As far as the episode itself, the plot, the unsub etc. it's fine. Not nearly good enough for a season finale in my opinion but not bad for any other episode.
My biggest issue? The writers trying to make Reid x JJ a thing. Even if you're a fan of that pairing you have to admit it really doesn't work within this setup. Suddenly JJ is admitting to being in love with Spencer who she's known for 14 ish years? The Godfather of her children? This is a woman who on multiple occasions has expressed her familial love for Spencer but romantic love? It doesn't track and where would this revelation leave her relationship with Will who she clearly loves.
For me it doesn't track and to be honest the way they played it doesn't make JJ look like a good person which is such an unkind thing to do to one of your original characters. Even if this relationship was pre-planned , which I doubt given the slap in the face feel of it, it could've been handled much better. I am seriously concerned that they will spend even a moment of their final season with this ridiculous oh does she really love me, do I really love Spencer more than Will . Please please just set it back down and make the final season the best you've had in years. Do it for all of us who have been with you for so long now.
