Zim's Final Invasion Provides a Fun, but Underwhelming Experience.

" Peace, peace, peace. Peace is nice, peace is better than chicken and rice!"- Gir (singing).

"Invader Zim: Enter the Floorplus" serves as the final episode of the great 2000s cult series "Invader Zim", notorious for its irreverent humour and its gory, twisted elements, that were and still are shocking for Nickelodeon. These are the elements that made "Invader Zim" work, and while I am not a huge fan of the series, I was excited to hear that a movie will be released to conclude the series and the fact that it would be on "Netflix" only furthered my excitement. However, when I watched the movie those elements that had made the series great, were as prevalent as I would have liked, leading to a sad shadow of a film.

"Enter the Floorplus" is a fine movie, however the film felt like it had no point: I'm not asking for it to be deeply profound or anything, but, come on, the "Rocko" special had a purpose and the original series had a purpose, so why doesn't the move? The satirical humour and the characters have morphed into over-exaggerated versions of themselves. There are some positives: the animation is nice, the scenes with the Tallest were great and Zim enacting his plan was enjoyable. I think maybe if you liked the series more than I do, these issues might not impact you as much.

Overall, an 6.5/10.
