Viral is messed up by your typical unlogical and stupid behavior of the main characters, even for teenagers they just behave, well, stupid (one could maybe rightfully argue that's a basic human right in that hormon-driven age). Or the other weak spot - the story. One example for the dumbness of the movie/story: the other sister tries to cure the disease of her sister with the help of a book and some stuff from the kitchen and/or father's garage!? Unbelievable bad and stupid this idea is to put it into the script and into motion - but of course it fills screen time if you got no real idea what to tell. Anyway, still watchable if you like the genre(a lot), but the Scandinavian movie Sorgenfri from 2015 (What We Become) is imo the better choice to watch, and Viral more or less a copy-cat or remake of that one.
