Here's yet another film written and directed by Woody Allen, starring Woody Allen as himself. Well no, his character has a name and everything, but seriously, the guy plays the same role every time. He acts the same in everything it seems like.
His plots are often very similar. They have a certain feel to them. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's just the sort of thing you have to be in the mood for after a while. That being said, I still enjoy his movies very much. This one was a bit different, as he has a tendency to branch out a bit in his later work. It's fun and the acting is good and the plot is intriguing, even if it is predictable. It's not "just" another Woody Allen movie. It's another good one. The kid has done it again! It's nothing super special, and it may even be a little forgettable, but that just means you can watch it again sometime fresh. Recommend.
