Trick (II) (2019)

Warning: Spoilers
"Trick" is the nickname of Patrick Weaver (Thom Niemann) a semi-creepy 2015 high school senior whose character could have been developed better. At a Halloween party with fellow seniors, Trick stabs a room full of people before getting a poker to the chest. He has a miraculous escape at the hospital and is presumed dead, although the body is never found. Each subsequent Halloween a mass stabbing occurs in a small town along the unnamed New York river. Detective Mike Denver (Omar Epps ) and Sheriff Lisa Jayne (Ellen Adair) are the main investigators. Cheryl Winston (Kristina Reyes), the first girl on the screen, is clearly set up to be the "final girl."

This is a slightly different kind of bloody slasher film, although not unique. There is no decent back story to the killings, which would have made a better film with a "Purge" aspect.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
