It's thanksgiving- Edie, her husband, her mom, and her in-laws are at dinner. Edie is acting miserable. Edies mom tells her to leave the family (so Edie can be with her lover).
What mother would say that to her daughter & in that situation? Why would that daughter/wife choose to hurt her family?
