If you are having a hard time finding this - be aware it is also titled My Girlfriend is a Nine tailed fox. The female lead, who is nicknamed "Mi-Ho" (Shin Min-Ah) is a legendary nine-tailed fox who is trapped in a painting after a failed attempt at romance 500 years before. She wants nothing more to than to find love and become part of the human world. The male lead, Cha Dae-Woong (Lee Seung-gi) is a spoiled grandson who is spending his college years spending his grandfather's money and patience. He is selfish and immature and the only focus he has is on becoming an action star. When a series of events leads to him releasing the Gumiho and needing her to preserve his life, his life becomes very complicated overnight. Suddenly he is forced to be responsible for and care for someone besides himself. His resentment over the situation results in a lot of pain and heartbreak for the Gumiho and leads her to rely heavily on another supernatural character Park Dong-joo (No min-Woo) who may or may not have her best interest at heart. Mi-Ho finds him appealing because he has found a way to successfully hide his true identity and live a life among humans. I thoroughly enjoyed this drama as it had a very unique story line, great character development and lots of twists and turns and surprises. It also had a fair amount of situation comedy which was also refreshing. I recognized the female lead but couldn't place her so I looked up her biography and found that she was the main female lead in another drama I enjoyed "Oh My Venus." The overall premise had a bit of a "Little Mermaid" vibe but was definitely a story uniquely its own. It had me on the edge of my seat to the end and I was really worried about how things might wrap up. It did not disappoint and I would recommend this one to anyone looking for a unique story line, romance, comedy, suspense and a supernatural element.
