Project Blue Book: Curse of the Skinwalker (2020)
Season 2, Episode 7
10/10
Probably the best episode of this series to date

Now this is highly reminiscent of The X-Files first two seasons, even the subject matter. In fact the X-Files had an episode that included a possible shape shifter, and this was before they had their shape changing alien bounty Hunter played by Brian Thompson. And that episode, like this episode is based on native American mythology which is always very interesting to hear about. I'm not too sure about the actual validity of the mythology but in the context of this episode it sounds reasonable - and mostly believable.

This Native American hoodoo is delivered to us by one of our great character actors, David Heyerdahl, known for his work as the slightly crazy Alien "Todd" in "Stargate: Atlantis". You can hear some of that character in the vocalizations of the character played by that actor in this episode.

Meanwhile, our Russian spy "Soozy" is on the verge of being discovered by our project blue book generals. And it's any guess which is worse, the American generals or the Russian spies? At this point in the show I am rooting for Soozy. She doesn't appear to be Standard evil Russian spy, it appears that she has a conscience and that she won't simply obey her orders but rather is questioning her orders.

In fact the Air Force isn't winning any points in this series, and especially in this episode.

The scientific gimmick explained in this episode is something I have heard about, so I'm glad that they are basing a lot of this on things that are grounded in science rather than just making up alien stories. The history channel is also using credible explanations to explain this phenomenon, I don't know if the explanations given are the same explanation from the actual project blue book files, but they are mostly, At least legitimate sounding. Even if they are actually hogwash.

I can't wait to see where Dr. Littlefinger brings us next week.
